Map Burke ZIP Code Coverage
Burke’s postal geography has a primary conventional ZIP and several nearby or boundary research labels. The county and postal evidence does not support treating every address with one of these labels as part of the Burke Census-designated place. Use the table as a verification set, then confirm an exact mailing address with USPS and the parcel’s position with Fairfax County tools. The post-office wording records routing context, not a municipal service boundary.
| ZIP | Areas covered | Post-office or routing note | Burke research caution |
|---|---|---|---|
| 22015 | Burke standard ZIP, Burke Centre, Burke roads, and many residential addresses | USPS city/state lookup and postal bulletins use BURKE VA 22015 | Primary conventional Burke ZIP; validate the exact address |
| 22009 | Burke PO Box or routing label in postal material | PO-box-oriented label; current service configuration needs USPS confirmation | Do not infer a street residence or CDP boundary from 22009 alone |
| 22151 | Springfield and Burke-area routing in historical postal material | Nearby or overlapping label in an older routing table | Boundary research set; not every 22151 address is in Burke CDP |
| 22152 | Springfield, West Springfield, and nearby county geography | County addresses near Burke can carry a Springfield label | Boundary mismatch example; validate parcel and USPS |
| 22153 | Springfield and Burke Lake plan-sector examples | Nearby county routing | Burke Lake or West Springfield edge research, not a blanket Burke ZIP |
| 22032 | Fairfax, Springfield, and Braddock-side nearby geography | Nearby county ZIP | Use for adjacent-parcel or association edge checks only |
| 22039 | Fairfax Station and Clifton-side nearby geography | Nearby county ZIP | Nearby southern or eastern edge; validate the exact address |
The 2014 Postal Bulletin tables associate both 22009 and 22015 with BURKE VA 22015 and also place 22151 in a Burke-related table. That is useful postal history, not proof of a present CDP line.
Verify Burke ZIP 22015
ZIP 22015 is the primary conventional ZIP for Burke addresses in the researched postal and county material. It appears with Burke Centre and many Burke roads, but a familiar label should never replace address verification. A parcel at Old Keene Mill Road, for example, is shown as Burke VA 22015 in county material. The most dependable sequence is to test the complete street address with USPS, then compare the tax parcel’s situs and county map layers when the locality label matters.
Burke has no incorporated municipal boundary that can be read from the ZIP alone. Fairfax County administers the records, addressing, permits, and parcel tools even when the mailing city field says Burke.
Note: USPS supplies postal labels, so use county parcel data separately whenever physical jurisdiction affects the record search.
Handle Burke ZIP 22009 Carefully
ZIP 22009 appears as a Burke PO Box or routing label in official postal material. It needs a special caution because a PO-box-oriented ZIP does not identify where a person or parcel is physically located. The research did not machine-extract the current dynamic city-and-state result, so the active arrangement should be checked through USPS at the time of use. Do not use 22009 alone to assign a street address to Burke CDP, Fairfax County parcel geography, or a household.
That difference matters in any ZIP code directory search. Postal delivery, tax correspondence, and the physical situs can each point to a different address field.
Compare Burke Edge ZIPs
The nearby ZIPs are most useful at the edges of a Burke search. ZIP 22151 has Springfield and Burke-area historical routing context. ZIP 22152 can identify nearby county addresses using a Springfield city label. ZIP 22153 is relevant to the Burke Lake and West Springfield edge. ZIPs 22032 and 22039 are adjacent Fairfax, Springfield, Braddock-side, Fairfax Station, or Clifton-side research labels. None should be used as a shortcut for a Burke CDP boundary.
- For 22151, check whether the actual parcel falls inside the Burke CDP before treating the label as Burke.
- For 22152, compare the postal name with the county parcel and district context.
- For 22153, treat Burke Lake plan-sector references as edge clues, not universal coverage.
- For 22032 and 22039, use the label to expand an adjacent-parcel or association search, then validate the address.
County examples make the mismatch concrete: 8445 Great Lake Lane is labeled Springfield VA 22153 with a Burke Lake plan sector, while a Burke address can use 22015. These are geography clues, not claims about every address in either ZIP.
Note: Adjacent ZIPs are useful for validation, not proof that an address lies inside the Burke CDP.
Find Burke Records by ZIP
A postal code can narrow where to look, but Fairfax does not offer a broad public resident directory by ZIP. Treat the search as an address and records workflow. USPS decides the mailing assignment; the county ZIP layer displays a local polygon; iCare works from an address or parcel; PLUS has a ZIP field for permit and development records. Virginia voter information follows a different access rule and should not be treated as a ZIP roster.
- Run the full street address through USPS and save the returned mailing ZIP and city label.
- Open the Fairfax ZIP map, search the address, place, or ZIP, and click the selected area. Use the data table or saved selection only as a county map aid.
- For a specific parcel, search iCare by address, owner, map number, or map. The inspected iCare route has no broad ZIP directory mode.
- For project or permit clues, search PLUS with ZIP Code alongside street or parcel fields, then read the resulting record’s site address.
- For voter data, use the Citizen Portal only for the person’s own record. Statutory voter-list requests filter by locality, district, and election and are restricted under Va. Code §24.2-405.
Once a ZIP narrows the area to a particular road, the Burke street directory provides the address-by-address parcel and deed sequence.
Use Burke USPS Modes
USPS offers three official modes that answer different postal questions: By Address, By City and State, and Cities by ZIP. By Address accepts a street, city, and state or a street plus ZIP, making it the final check for an individual mailing address. By City and State returns ZIPs for the entered postal city. Cities by ZIP reverses the process and lists city labels associated with a ZIP. Those labels are routing terms, so pair them with a parcel or county map when physical geography matters.
The USPS postal lookup presents the three official verification paths.
Use its exact-address route last, because a ZIP code directory table cannot replace the postal carrier’s current assignment.
Overlay Burke ZIP Geography
Fairfax’s ZIP interactive map has a ZIP Code layer from county DTA/IPLS 2025. The controls include a magnifying-glass search for an address, place, or ZIP; pan and zoom; click, select, and clear actions; a data table; and Save Selection and Save All. This makes it useful for comparing a candidate postal area with county features, districts, and parcels. It does not determine the mailing ZIP for an address. USPS remains the authority for the postal assignment.
The Fairfax ZIP interactive map shows the county’s search, selection, and export controls.
Use the map to see county geography, then return to USPS for the final mailing answer and iCare for the parcel record.
Note: The county map shows a polygon, while USPS assigns the actual mailing ZIP for delivery.
Search Burke PLUS ZIP Fields
USPS confirms a postal assignment, while PLUS is Fairfax County’s public permit and development search. Unlike iCare’s address-first workflow, PLUS includes a ZIP Code field. Combine that field with a street, unit, project date, record type, or parcel ID rather than treating a ZIP-only result as a resident list. Applications require an account, and historical records are not guaranteed to be complete in PLUS.
| Service and field | Input | What it narrows | Boundary |
|---|---|---|---|
| USPS By Address | Street, city and state, or street plus ZIP | Exact mailing ZIP and city label | Postal routing, not county or CDP geography |
| USPS By City and State | Postal city and state | ZIPs associated with that city label | Does not prove every listed ZIP is inside Burke CDP |
| USPS Cities by ZIP | ZIP | City labels associated with the entered ZIP | City label is not a municipal boundary |
| ZIP Code | Text | Postal area attached to a permit or project address | Not a household search |
| Street Number and Street Name | Text | Specific site address | Use with the correct street-type and unit details |
| Parcel ID Number | Text | Tax parcel linked to a record | More stable than a changing postal label |
| Record Type and Project Name | Text/select | Permit or development category | Public search is not a complete historic file |
| Start and End Date | Date | Project time frame | Dates document a record, not who occupied a site |
The Fairfax PLUS public search is the ZIP-capable county portal documented in the research.
Note: A PLUS ZIP result identifies a record location, not every person associated with that postal area.
Separate Burke Address Labels
Three terms prevent many false matches in a Burke ZIP code directory search. A postal label tells USPS where mail is routed. A situs is the physical parcel or building address used by iCare, GIS, permits, code cases, and county services. A legal description or PIN is the recorded land identity in deeds, plats, and tax maps. A mailing address is the tax-owner correspondence address and can be elsewhere in Burke, elsewhere in Virginia, or outside the state. Each is valid for a different task.
The Fairfax iCare address search is the public parcel route for a specific situs, not a broad ZIP directory.
Its Number, Unit#, Street, and Suffix fields show why a full location is more useful than a ZIP alone when the goal is a parcel record.
- ZIP code
- A postal routing code used to deliver mail. It does not define a CDP or county boundary.
- ZIP+4
- An added four-digit delivery segment that refines routing below the five-digit ZIP. It is not a parcel identifier.
- PO-box ZIP
- A ZIP associated with post-office box or routing service. It should not be read as a physical street location.
- Carrier route
- A postal delivery grouping within a ZIP. It is a delivery aid, not a public resident record.
Set Burke ZIP Boundaries
Burke is a Fairfax County CDP, not an incorporated city, and Burke Centre is a separate CDP in Census material. Postal labels, CDP polygons, county service areas, precincts, and parcel lines are different shapes. A Burke ZIP can extend beyond the CDP, while a nearby Springfield or Fairfax Station label can occur in county geography close to Burke. No official modern Burke ZIP split or realignment year was found in the research, so date-specific postal claims need a fresh USPS check.
Note: ZIP labels help organize an address search, but they should not be used to infer a household, a CDP boundary, or a voter record.
