Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the provider that operates the result service. Burke Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those searches. If you contact us, we receive the details in your message and use them to respond.
Technical Information
Hosting systems create standard logs, such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and time of visit. Aggregate review helps maintain the service and understand general readership. Cookies or comparable tools may support basic analytics and advertising measurement where used.
How Information Is Used
Information is used to operate the service, diagnose issues, measure aggregate traffic, and improve the reference. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Services
Links lead to county and state portals, archives, library collections, and search providers. Those organizations control the data submitted to their systems under their own policies. The same is true of sponsored search results supplied by another company.
Service Providers and Disclosure
Hosting and support providers process technical logs for the service. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Information is disclosed when valid legal process requires it, and not for unrelated purposes.
Security Practices
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are kept only for the operational purposes described here. No site account, password, or visitor profile is maintained by Burke Residents Directory.
Visitors Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed toward children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from someone under 18. Contact us if a minor has sent information and it will be removed.
Your Privacy Choices
Virginia’s Consumer Data Protection Act, Va. Code §59.1-571 et seq., gives covered consumers access, correction, deletion, and certain opt-out rights for covered-business data. Because we keep little visitor information, a request generally involves checking the contact mailbox and operational logs, then removing applicable information. Use the Contact page to ask. Fairfax County, Virginia, and court records remain under their custodians’ authority; a request about such a record belongs with that custodian.
Policy Changes
Updates will appear here. Continued use after a posted update indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
